Grid Reform Update
KATIE INSCH • December 15th, 2024As many know, the impending NPF4 grid reform is a fluid and evolving situation (see our news piece on it here).
According to the latest updates from some Network Operators, generation connections at or above 1MW will now need to include specific paperwork with their grid application form including Heads of Terms between the Landowner and the Developer; Detailed Site Layout, Engineering or Project Plan and more technical grid details.
The Head of Terms may now also be required to include a framework for negotiation; greater details on the land parcel, including the address, extent of land and a mapped outline, use of land, lease duration. It will also require any conditions, such as board approval, planning consent and due diligence.
Most interestingly, the HOTs will require to be signed by the Landowner’s solicitor.
